Helps parents apply for child support services, to establish paternity and support orders, and to enforce support orders within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Provides services that focus on matters related to family law, including establishing paternity, child and spousal support, and enforcing support orders.

Responsible for establishing paternity for children born out-of-wedlock; establishing appropriate support obligations using the Pennsylvania Statutes and Rules of Court; locating absent parents; monitoring and enforcing those support obligations by applying the law appropriately and using the Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement System.

Performs location services if a non-custodial parent’s whereabouts are unknown. Also assists clients in job searches by providing information about PA CareerLink®.

Registers, maintains and, where appropriate, provides certified copies of judgments, decrees or orders issued by the court for the support and maintenance of a child or spouse including a child who has attained the age of majority under the law of the issuing jurisdiction, or that of the parent with whom the child is living.

Works with families to establish and enforce support obligations for children and spouses. Assists in opening new cases involving paternity establishment and child and/or spousal support. Enforces those orders, collects and disburses support payments. If someone is not sure that he is the biological father of a child, the Court will order genetic testing. Attempts to locate absent parents.

Responsible for preparing Complaints and Petitions for the establishment and enforcement of child support, spousal support and/or alimony pendente lite orders for the Court. Domestic Relations will also establish paternity when necessary, locate missing parents and resolve medical insurance and expense issues between separated parents.
