Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18 - Special Education Services

All of the public schools of Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18 (LIU), 368 Tioga Ave,. Kingston, Pennsylvania provides special education and related service to resident children with disabilities who are ages three through twenty-one. Services ensure that children with disabilities are educated to the maximum extent appropriate in the regular education environment, and that the instruction they receive conforms as much as possible to the instruction that non-disabled students receive.

Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit - Geisinger's Janet Weis Children's Hospital School

Provides educational services like teaching and testing, as well as assistance with children.s re-entry to their home school to children who are patients at Janet Weis Children's Hospital. School is staffed by a state-certified teacher employed by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit. Teacher maintains a connection with each child's home school teacher to get information about assignments, the child's educational history, and to be sure the child receives credit for attendance and assignments he/she completes while at the Hospital School. The teacher will also suggest services and activities that will aid in the child's return to school. The Hospital School is located on the third floor of Geisinger's Janet Weis Children's Hospital. Services are also provided at your child's bedside when needed.

Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit - Classroom and Itinerant Special Education Programs

Provides special education support services in local school distrists. Programs include: Autistic Support Program - classes and itinerant support for students identified as autistic Five Star Emotional Support Program - full-time program for students with behavioral and social-emotional needs, which includes partial hospitalization and emotional support services Hearing Impaired Support Program - classes and itinerant support for students who are deaf or hearing impaired Independent Living Program -(Alpha Circle) instruction in skills that enable young people to make the transition to adult life; conducted in a community setting Multi-Disabilities Support Programs - classes for students having multiple disabilities School Social Work Services - itinerant social work support for children needing emotional support. Staff work with families and teachers to foster emotional growth Speech and Language Support Services - itinerant speech and language services for children needing support to improve their speech

Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 - Special Education Services

Provides educational programs for students with special needs. Programs include the delivery of itinerant and classroom services to students with disabilities. State Early Intervention provides services to 3 to 5 year old children with special needs. The Bucks IU also provides educational services to the children in institutional facilities located in Bucks County. Additionally, provides programs and services for adults with disabilities.
