Provides job skills training for adults with disabilities. Some examples are janitorial, food service (including catering), and lawn care skills training in the community at commercial and private sites. Training is provided at a ratio of one staff to 3 or 4 individuals.

Assists youth and adults with disabilities to prepare for, secure, and maintain or advance in employment in the local community to support their financial self-sufficiency. As part of their service delivery, they provide benefits counseling support to those individuals who receive SSI and/or SSDI to understand work's impact on their cash benefit and healthcare.

The Commerce Park Clubhouse offers a variety of employment opportunities such as Transitional Employment Positions (TEP)and Supported Employment, and also provides in-house support for those in Independent Employment. TEP’s and Supported Employment also receive Job Coaching, funded through OVR. Clubhouse administrators try to match members with positions that fit a member's needs and skill sets. Commerce Park Clubhouse has a wide variety of opportunities for members to get involved in everything from cooking to how to use a computer throughout the work day. The Tower Cafe is a vocational training restaurant operated by Community Services Group.

Offers assessments by licensed optometrists, prescriptions for optical aids, and the opportunity to try out aids ranging from magnifiers, writing guides, special lighting devices, and closed-circuit TVs. Prevention of blindness programs including free vision screenings for children 12 months to 6 years of age. Transportation: This free door-to-door service provides rides to essential medical appointment or critical service need, such as obtaining a photo ID or grocery shopping. Individuals must live in Allegheny County and meet the program criteria. Appointments requested to be made in advance.

Offers a range of services and opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Eligible individuals can elect to participate in Prevocational and Adult Training services. In-home assistance is also available.

The Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, or OVR, provides vocational rehabilitation services to help persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment. OVR provides services to eligible individuals with disabilities, both directly and through a network of approved vendors. Services are provided on an individualized basis. The OVR counselor, during face-to-face interviews, assists customers in selecting their choice of vocational goals, services and service providers. An Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) is developed, outlining a vocational objective, services, providers and responsibilities. Certain services are subject to a Financial Needs Test (FNT) and may require financial participation by the customer. Counseling and guidance, diagnostic services, assessments, information and referral, job development and placement, and personal services such as readers or sign language interpreters are provided at no cost to the individual. Assists Pennsylvanians with disabilities in gaining the skills necessary to live and work independently in their communities. OVR services include: diagnostic services, vocational evaluation, vocational counseling, job training, medical services and assistive technology equipment to help clients pursue and achieve employment, and job placement assistance.

Coordinates with various agencies and clients to identify and address specific support needs for individuals with disabilities. After evaluating each person's vocational goals, DEC assesses the individual's existing abilities and matches his or her interests and skill set to a relevant work environment. Placement in our Employment Services Program offers hands-on experience in the workplace with support along the way.
