Provides volunteer assistance to help seniors remain living in their homes and communities, independent and healthy. Services include transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, food pantry delivery, friendly phone calls, friendly visits, minor handyman assistance and light yardwork (no grass cutting or snow shoveling). Volunteers undergo background checks, and references are required.

Provides volunteer companionship and assistance to help older adults remain living in their homes and communities. Assistance may include transport to medical appointments and procedures, grocery shopping, pets to vet, telephone reassurance, minor home repairs, check writing/forms/balance accounts, supportive visitation, and transport for hair/barber appointments.

Coordinates volunteer transportation assistance for ambulatory older adults to medical appointments. Limited to residents of the following school districts: Quaker Valley, Ambridge, Moon, and Cornell.

Offers free or sliding fee scale hoarding cleanup, lawn maintenance, debris removal, and light repairs/painting for qualifying individuals and families. The service is specifically designed to restore safe and sanitary living conditions while respecting the privacy and dignity of those involved.

Assists homeowners, including veterans, seniors, and disabled homeowners with minor exterior home repairs. Typical projects include exterior painting, accessibility modifications (ramps, handrails, etc.), fence replacement, deck and stair, and overgrown brush removal. WE DO NOT REPLACE/REPAIR ROOFS.

Provides services, social activities, and volunteer opportunities for retirees living in Lancaster City.

Assists with small repairs, household maintenance, and chores. Assists on a limited basis with relocation and moving, Services are based upon availability of volunteers.

Helping Hands for Heroes is a partnership between Franklin County Adult Probation and the Franklin County Veterans Affairs Office. This program allows adult probation participants the opportunity to serve military members, veterans, and their families.
