Operates a park that was previously one of 170 iron ore mines in York County. Offers one parking area and 1.5 miles of trails for visitors to explore. Home to four species of bats that use the former iron ore mines as their habitat. Ensures their hibernation environment remains undisturbed through a protective gate installed in partnership with the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Wildlife Conservation Fund.

Oversees the 3,500-acre Codorus State Park and provides various recreational activities within the park.

Offers a variety of recreational opportunities and scenic experiences including three picnic areas with reservable pavilions, scenic observation decks, a playground, and a fitness trail. Features a Nature Fun Zone, a fenced natural play area for imaginative play, and supports GeoCaching with a special permit. Maintains over twelve miles of multi-use trails for hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bikers. Permits limited hunting with a special permit issued by the Parks Administrative Headquarters.

Offers recreation programs with parades, team sports/leagues, cultural events, and a summer artist series. Allows for community rental of facilities including cabins, pools, paviions, community centers, and parks.

Offers year-round fine arts classes for children and adults; music lessons; and movies and lectures. Provides Environmental Education Programs, Camping programs, outdoor challenges, and workshops. Public pools and swimming lessons for children and adults are open seasonally.

Operates a Nature Center featuring live reptiles, a children’s touch room, bird feeder observation windows, an extensive preserved insect collection, and interactive educational displays focused on PA natural history. Offers several park amenities including hiking trails and various special events/programs throughout the year.

Provides a recreation center to the community, along with many activities and services. Some amenities include: ice arena, aquatic center, community garden, sport fields, skate park, tennis courts, and more.

Operates a year-round park, patrolled by York County Park Rangers. Offers a trail that is a 10-foot-wide compacted stone surface designed for hiking, bicycling, running, and horseback riding, as well as winter sports such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Facilities along the trail include benches, picnic tables, and restrooms. Communities along the trail offer more extensive services and facilities.

Chats will last 15 minutes. Available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Limited to one visit each month. Located on the 2nd Floor of Building B.
