Administers additional classes that include Citizenship Classes, the Next Step Program helping students to prepare for a career, higher education, and workplace goals, HiSET Testing Location in York County, and Home of BUCK A BOOK® Reading Program held in York County Schools. Offers volunteer opportunities to be tutors with training provided.

Rehabilitates injured and orphaned herons, egrets, and bitterns, and releases them back into the wild. Accepts less common, delicate, and state-endangered species of birds.

They believe everyone should have the chance to experience the transformative power of the arts regardless of financial circumstances. Accepts volunteers, donations of nonperishable food, monetary donations, and donations of gift cards that can be used to buy items to stock the food pantry.

Supports local health and human service agencies that provide various types of programs that meet the needs of the community. Does not provide direct services to clients, but instead funds organizations and programs and offers volunteer opportunities.

Connects people with opportunities that serve to build the capacity for effective local volunteering. Promotes volunteering and participates in strategic initiatives that mobilize volunteers.

Provides an opportunity to raise funds for Salvation Army by ringing a kettle at various retail locations. Starts in mid-November and ends on December 24.

Offers opportunities to volunteer at the rescue. Accepts donations in the form of pet food, gift cards, or other monetary donations.

Provides a membership-based, drop in social center/recreation club for adults with a diagnosed mental illness.

CASA Volunteers are citizens who are trained to advocate for the best interest of children in the foster care system. They are assigned to a child or sibling group and get to know the child, as well as biological parents, resource parents, caseworkers, teachers, therapists, and doctors. They meet with the parties on their case regularly, write reports to the court, and attend hearings to testify to what is in the child's best interest. They investigate, facilitate, advocate, and monitor throughout the life of the case, until the child achieves a safe and permanent home.

Offers APPRISE Medicare Counseling and Ombudsman volunteer opportunities.

Provides free, one-to-one and small group instruction in reading, writing, math or English as a Second Language to adults who wish to improve basic skills. Tutoring sessions may be held at any public location such as a library, church, community center, or recreation hall.

Collects gift cards to give to eligible children during the holidays.

Provides Community Engagement Projects which include: - Painting murals - Planting gardens - Creating play spaces - Renovating schools - Refurbishing community centers - Engaging community members, helping share the power of service

Provides supportive services and outreach to meet the needs of the elderly and adults with disabilities. Services include transportation to medical appointments, errands and shopping assistance, supportive visiting and telephone reassurance, light housekeeping and meal preparation, minor household maintenance, caregiver relief, and reading or helping to write out checks to pay bills.

Offers a variety of ongoing, one-day, and event volunteer opportunities.

Provides childcare/afterschool care for children from the ages of 6 weeks through 13 years. Full time and part time care is available. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are provided.
