Foster Grandparents are classroom volunteers that share their time to enhance the quality of life of children and youth in preschools, Head Start centers and schools. Provides per hour stipend, meals while volunteering, mileage/transportation, clearances and training.

Deploys trained volunteers to provide objective reviews of housing or housing-related services for quality, content, and quantity of information and services. Volunteers are compensated as testers and trained under the methodologies approved by the Department of Housing and Development.

Offers a comprehensive response to allegations of child abuse throughout Warren County. Available services include forensic interviewing, family advocacy, facility dog program, court accompaniment, case coordination and management, child abuse prevention information, child abuse reporting information, a speakers bureau, and customized training.

Cultivates a community garden. Distributes produce to community members in need. Provides volunteer opportunities.

Operates a department store style thrift shop that sells a range of donated items including women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing, housewares, decorative items, books, furniture and linens. Proceeds go toward funding NOVA's programs.

Foster Grandparents are role models, mentors, and tutors to at-risk children in an educational setting. The program provides a way for volunteers to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities. All one needs to join is the ability to give the kind of comfort and love that sets a child on the path toward a successful future. If individuals are 55 or older and want to share their experience and compassion, then they have what it takes to be a Foster Grandparent. GECAC will provide a stipend or other benefits that enable individuals to participate as Foster Grandparents without cost to themselves .

Operates Adopt-A-Highway, an effective way to reduce the overall cost of litter pick-up in Pennsylvania. Offers volunteer opportunity to clear a two-mile section of state highway two to four times a year. Works to reduce the overall cost of litter pick-up in Pennsylvania.

Offers programs for individuals and groups of all ages, including hikes, animal encounters, birthday parties, and summer camps. Features short but rugged trails, a bird observatory cabin, and nature museum.

Volunteers are needed to assist in driving individuals who are visually impaired or blind to medical appointments and agency-sponsored meetings. Mileage reimbursement available.

Provides an opportunity to raise funds for Salvation Army by ringing a kettle at various retail locations. Starts in mid-November and ends on December 24.

Offers collections, historic sites, and documentary resources to inspire people to explore the history and culture of York County, Pennsylvania. Seeks volunteers in the following positions: education, curatorial, library, administration, and special events.
