Operation Save-A-Vet, Save-A-Pet is a program dedicated to helping Franklin County veterans with service-connected disabilities to lead happier, healthier, and more productive lives. This program benefits the veteran, the dog, and the community. Service dogs have proven to be highly valuable in assisting veterans with all types of disabilities, including, but not limited to, diabetes, seizure disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and traumatic brain injury. Our dogs come from local rescues and shelters, and a few select breeding lines, and are provided with highly specialized training and care. These dogs are then capable of serving veterans with a number of physical and psychological needs. During the process of training service dogs, foster families may be utilized to house and care for the puppies. Selection of these foster families will remain at the sole discretion of the Franklin County Veterans Affairs Office. Foster families will be required to meet all ethical standards, policies, and

Provides lesson to to learn the skills of riding a horse. Each riding session includes grooming and putting equipment on the horse.

The Read to Pet Pal program helps children improve their literacy skills, confidence and self-esteem by reading to animals.

A free weekly program of music and camaraderie, includes musical instruction and musical instrument.

Offers,children and adults with special challenges, through a therapeutic partnership with horses. Therapeutic riding includes both mounted and ground sessions. It uses equestrian goals to improve daily life situations.

Offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, developmental teaching by special instructors, and infant massage. PennCares preschools allow young children with and without disabilities to play, develop, and learn together while promoting a sense of belonging.

Provides short-term intervention services to children and adults who are experiencing behavioral health crises. Offers recommendations and referrals for treatment. Also offers critical incident stress debriefing and crisis prevention training.

Provides non-skilled In-Home Caregivers to help clients gain and maintain new independence in essential activities of daily life. Services includes bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility assistance, food prep, shopping and errands, light housekeeping, socializing, encouraging engagement, and respite for family caregivers.

PFL assists autistic and special needs children with specially chosen therapy pets. The program can be tailored to the needs of the students, and can include: Behavioral regulation Building social connections Motivation to achieve “Calm Body, Calm Voice” Literacy

Brings pets into corporate offices for wellness visits.

Provides individual and group crisis intervention following incidents of violence that have impacted schools, communities, and workplaces.

Offers outpatient behavioral healthcare services including: Individual, marital, family, and group therapy Specialized services for children and adolescents Women's services Eating disorders treatment Psychiatric evaluations Medication management Psychological testing Treatment is provided by psychiatrists, psychologists, and licensed clinical social workers and licensed marriage and family therapists.

Therapeutic Horseback Riding is designed to provide both physical and psychological benefits. The warmth and motion of the horse relaxes spastic muscles and mobilizes stiff joints. The horses's rhythmic walk is similar to man's and is beneficial for those who are unable to walk on their own. Therapeutic Riding has also been proven to improve the following: Balance Posture Motivation Self-esteem Independence Attention Span Program Information Lessons are given May through October. Provides certified visiting therapy dogs, cats, and rabbits to local hospitals, senior care facilities, college campuses, schools and more.

Provides individual, family, couples, children, and adolescent counseling, education, and consultation through a team of psychologists, professional counselors, clergy, and business consultants. Faith and spirituality may be integrated, if desired by the client.

Provides therapeutic horseback riding for people with disabilities.

Offers a therapeutic arts program which enables individuals to further explore the arts, art history, coping skills, and self-expression. Helps individuals become more engaged in the community, reduces isolation, improves stabilization, and teaches both vocational and arts-based skills.

Provides a specialized type of counseling that uses the client’s own creativity to process difficult experiences, manage stress, explore emotions, and improve mental health. Art therapists are highly trained in both mental health and the creative arts. Art therapy has been shown to improve the ability to concentrate, communicate with others, and improve self-esteem and self-awareness. It can be used for the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and depression both alone, and in conjunction with other forms of therapy

Serves as a procedure used to treat severe depression.

Offers an art therapy program which encourages individuals to achieve self-expression and emotional release by communicating their emotions and conflicts graphically through painting, drawing, sculpting and other art forms.

Offers a program that allows for each client to be assigned to a horse for the duration of their stay to ensure each client's needs are matched appropriately with a horse that will allow them to be successful in equine activities. While learning to ride and care for a horse, a client can learn to increase their attention and focus, sensory perception, communication skills, emotional vulnerability, confidence, and self-esteem. The horse activities are taught and supervised by our highly–trained Ranch staff and therapeutically processed with Malibu’s Clinical staff.
