Provides semi-Independent living environment where staff support is available 40 hour a week for individuals who have already acquired the basic skills necessary for independent living, but are not yet ready to live entirely on their own. Staff assists individuals in refining their skills to the level necessary for complete independence.

Provides families and caregivers a temporary break from their routine responsibilities and challenges. Respite care can be for an hour, a day, a weekend or up to a week.

Offers a public interest law firm that represents low income people in civil cases. CJP specializes in class action lawsuits and innovative advocacy. CJP does not charge its clients fees, but it handles only cases and advocacy projects that have a broad impact on low income people.

Provides access to free Wifi, free book loans, and free audiobook loans.

Provides training and support for adults wishing to become foster parents and works with the courts to place children in appropriate foster care. A stipend is provided for foster parents. Diakon Adoption and Foster Care services assists people wishing to adopt. Conducts home studies and ongoing support, when requested. Also provides assistance and emotional support to pregnant women wishing to make designated adoptions. Works with the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (Swan) to assist families in adopting children with special needs (children older than 5 years, sibling groups, children with emotional, intellectual or physical challenges) and legal-risk adoptions (foster to adopt). No fees for adoptions through the SWAN program, but fees apply for other adoption services.

Provides a bi-monthly food pantry that distributes supplemental, non-perishable food. Accepts item donation drop-offs at My Neighbors Closet and Barely Enough. Monetary donations made by check may be mailed.

Provides a preschool designed to enhance each child's individual development.

Provides a hot, nutritious meal to be eaten on-site. Take-out is available for individuals who cannot use church steps.

Performs the following services and maintains these facilities:

• Recycling: LCSWMA assists municipalities, businesses and other institutions with starting and maintaining their recycling programs. LCSWMA’s three Lancaster facilities have 24/7 recycling drop-off areas for the following materials: glass bottles and jars, aluminum and steel cans, plastic bottles, and newspapers (including office paper and magazines). The Transfer Station Complex also accepts cardboard.
• Transfer Station Complex: Located on Harrisburg Pike in Lancaster. A central location for the transfer of trash for end disposal (waste-to-energy facility or landfill). Accessible to commercial haulers and residents. Also has a recycling drop-off center and Household Hazardous Waste Facility for items such as paint, computers, televisions, batteries, etc.
• Household Hazardous Waste Facility: Located at the Transfer Station Complex on Harrisburg Pike in Lancaster, LCSWMA accepts household hazardous waste materials from residents in

Provides vouchers for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables that are grown locally. Each eligible senior will receive (5) $5.00 voucher to redeem at an approved local Farmers' Market.

Provides Allegheny County residents served by the Allegheny County Department of Human Services (AC DHS) — as well as other interested parties — with quick and easy access to knowledgeable specialists who answer questions, resolve concerns and complaints, and offer referrals to services provided through DHS.

Provides emergency assistance for families with children who are in school. Examples of assistance include rent, doctor appointments, dental needs, utilities and transportation.

Offers a comprehensive team approach to mental health treatment and service coordination for individuals with behavioral health challenges who have not progressed in their recovery after receiving more traditional behavioral health services.

Provides a safe, supervised environment for kids where they can be with friends, get a snack or a meal, find help with homework, and participate in activities with staff.

Program is designed for people with dependent children (or a pregnant women) who have a break in employment or other income for some reason, i.e. layoff, waiting for Unemployment to start, waiting for another job to start (an interruption in income, rather than no income to support self or family). This program eliminates the need to go on public assistance or TANF on an ongoing basis. The applicant must have a self-supporting income within the past 90 days of application and must be expecting income that would eliminate the need for ongoing TANF. This is a one-time payment program to bridge a gap in income. Payment is usually around $600-$1500 depending on household size and financial responsibilities.

Provides peer specialists going through similar trauma's for individuals during their mental health journey.

Provides primary care and other health services

Provides victims of domestic violence with counseling and options for accessing the legal system as well as other social services. Services include legal, safety planning, support groups, advocacy, and community referrals.

Distributes Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) vouchers to WIC eligible households. Vouchers can be used to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables from farm markets across Pennsylvania.

Provides scouting activities for youth. The Boy Scouts of America Washington Crossing Council now offers family scouting, which means that now both girls and boys participate in all of our programs
