Helps persons learn coping strategies from peers and professionals. Support groups facilitated by professionals. Addresses general sight loss, diabetic sight loss. Activities include includes instruction, discussion, informational lectures by guest speakers, art workshops, gardening, field trips and social activities.

Provides air conditioned locations for individuals and families who do not have sufficient cooling during extreme heat events. Some centers offer extended hours when the temperature is 90 degrees Fahrenheit or above.

Short-term rehabilitation services are designed for individuals needing an extensive rehabilitation program following an illness, surgery or injury. Strive to restore original ability levels and prepare patients for independent living in their homes.

Offers the following Senior Center Services: Recreation, socialization, education; Information & referral to area agency on aging caseworker-approved services; Info & referral to other agencies as deemed necessary; Specialized transportation; Volunteer opportunities; Monthly minimal health screening; Weekday noon-time meals; Transportation can be provided; Income tax preparation, pace application, property tax, and rent rebate; Senior Environmental Corp (sec) - volunteer water monitoring, volunteer dealing with other environmental issues, speakers on environmental issues.

Provides clinical health services to the community and educational opportunities for students.

Exists to serve citizens by educating and addressing municipal questions and needs. This can be done in one of three ways: through their Treasury Office, Call Center or Website.

• Treasury Office: Accepts payment of all City of Reading bills and fees except water (RAWA) bills and property taxes. Allows walk-ins and processes payments received by all City of Reading departments. Additionally, Treasury posts payments to applicable accounts, and provides account balances upon request.
• Call Center: Manages the city toll-free phone number. Answers citizens questions and responds to citizens request. Log missed trash and recycling occurrences. Accept calls in English and Spanish. The City's Fire and Rescue Department is providing free smoke detectors, complete temporary installations and fire prevention literature to approved applicants. Call for more information.

Provide assistance in finding housing, food, transportation, and other community resources. Other services include helping make a connection for utility assistance, applying for health insurance, patient advocacy, managing nursing care, and the coordination of patient care.

Provides disability related supportive housing and personal care facility for low-income residents with a physical or mental disability that require assistance with the activities of daily living. Services are provided including resident care, health care, meals, and social services along with many recreation and volunteer activities.

Provides visiting nurses who work with on parenting, nutrition and birth control from the beginning of their pregnancy until their babies are two years old.

Serves as a free health insurance counseling program for individuals on Medicare and Medicaid. Provides counselors who answer questions about Medicare and provide easy-to-understand information about Medicare, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, Medicaid, and Long-Term Care Insurance. Offers insurance options to help find an option that meets the client's health and wellness needs. Assists in filing appeals and grievances for denied services, and quality of care.

Provides a day center for adults who are not able to spend a full day alone in their own homes safely. Offers breakfast, lunch, a snack, and dinner, as well as showers with safety equipment and assistance. Medical needs and medications are monitored, and a nurse capable of administering medications is on site. Physical, occupation, and speech therapists also visit regularly.

Provides assistance with understanding Medicare and Medicaid eligibility benefits, Medicare supplemental insurance, Medicare HMOs and long-term care insurance. Trained volunteers and staff assist in filing appeals and grievances for denied services and quality of care in Medicare HMOs.

Summer Day Camp Programs are available to children, age 5-17. Program runs from mid June to late August. Full day and half day programs are available.

Offers weekly, full day and extended day sports camps for children in kindergarten to 8th grade. Activities include daily mix of sports such as soccer, flag football, track & field, wiffle ball, swimming, and more.

Offers experienced tenant organizers who will come to an apartment building and meet with groups of tenants interested in forming a tenant council.

Provides a supplemental food pantry.

Provides assisted living services, including laundry, housekeeping, prescription delivery, transportation, mobility assistance, and help with daily tasks (eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, hygiene, grooming).

Provides a warm space during the daytime in extreme cold emergencies.

Assists families in locating child care facilities that meet their child care needs, in making good child care choices through the provision of material and counseling. Using a statewide database that contains regulated center and home-base child care providers, a resource referral specialist can help a family find services anywhere in Pennsylvania.

Offers an early childhood curriculum with applied behavior analysis (ABA) approach to teaching in an integrated classroom setting.

Provides a combination of drinking water, stormwater, and/or sewer conveyance services to the City of Pittsburgh and some outlying communities.
