Veterans who are disabled, homebound, low-income, or in need of food assistance. Will deliver mainly non-perishable food items. During intake, you will be matched to your preferences with available donations. If approved, a VALOR Clinic Foundation representative will contact you to schedule an appointment. This program is free for veterans and their families. Delivery is once per month, the amount is based on total number of people living in the household

Osteoporosis is a gradual thinning and weakening of bones, which can lead to bone fractures. More than 10 million Americans, 80 percent of whom are women, have or are at risk of developing this condition. Since osteoporosis is often referred to as a "silent disease," many are less likely to find out they have it until they suffer a painful bone fracture. Two testing methods are available: 1) AccuDXA, which uses low dose X-ray to measure bone density of the middle finger of the non-dominant hand; or 2) Achilles Express, which uses ultrasound to measure bone density of the heel. Offers services that may include case management, adult day services, medication setup, personal care/assistance, personal emergency response system, incontinence supplies, home-delivered meals, and home support.

The HealthyWoman Program provides free breast and cervical cancer screening services to income-eligible, uninsured PA women, ages 40-64. When abnormal results are found, the program pays for follow-up diagnostic testing. Patients diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer through the program are enrolled into the Breast & Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment Medicaid program to receive free treatment.

Provides confidential assistance to any victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or other crime, recent or past. Services include emergency domestic violence shelter, crisis services, transitional and supportive housing, medical and legal advocacy, civil legal representation, counseling for adults and children, and prevention education.

Provides help for veterans experiencing homelessness to seek and gain employment. Connects them with training programs to build skills that will help them to re-enter the work force. Offers job counseling, resume preparation, and job placement.

Provides inpatient and outpatient acute care at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Provides applications for the Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly.

Offers recreational and social activities which may include board games, cards, exercise, dance, trips, special events, and health programs. A hot, nutritious noon meal is available free of charge with a reservation.

Vantage Academy is a comprehensive alternative education program for students in grades 6 through 12 formed through a collaborative effort between the Souderton Area School District in Souderton, PA and Lakeside Educational Network. It is designed to provide students who are experiencing difficulty in the regular school setting with the academic, counseling and behavioral support necessary to overcome their school obstacles and achieve success. The primary goal of this program is a staged transition for students to return back to their home school after they successfully complete their educational goals while at Vantage.

Provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support and education, individual screening for nutrition anemia and lead testing referral, participant referrals to other community programs, and tailored food packages to supplement the individual needs of the participant and/or their child.

Provides outpatient counseling, medication management, and therapy are offered through the Laurel Health Centers for anyone facing stressful, confusing, or overwhelming life situations. Services include individual, marital, family, or group counseling; psychiatric and psychological evaluations; play therapy for children; and therapy for depression, anxiety, panic and eating disorders, and parent-child issues.

Provides funding for blood cancer research, education and patient services.

Offers training in all spheres of employment to include job training on a variety of jobs, social competence in the workplace, and development of soft skills. Provides community-based activities in order to obtain “real world” work experiences.

Assists older Spanish-speaking adults with personal needs, gain access to health care, and a range of community service resources. Helps seniors to avoid isolation and remain independent.

Provides a friendly visit and freshly prepared and frozen food to seniors that cannot cook and/or shop for themselves. Food options include meat, poultry, fish, dairy, and vegetarian pasta meals. Individuals may choose from these categories to customize their bi-weekly delivery of 5 to 14 meals.

The Lackawanna County Public Defender's Office represents those adult individuals who have been charged with a criminal offense and are determined to be indigent. If you cannot afford an attorney, you may obtain an Application for Legal Representation at the Public Defender's Office. You must provide proof of income and any papers that you may have pertaining to your charge. If you are eligible, you will be provided with representation by the Public Defender's Office free of charge. If you are in prison, you may obtain an Application for Legal Representation from your counselor. The completed Application will be delivered to the Public Defender's Office and you will be notified of your eligibility.
