Provides a variety of supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enhance their abilities and interests. Services include supported living, in-home supports, day programs, group living, intermediate care facilities, supports coordination, and respite care.

Pays for health care services for eligible individuals. This service is also known as Medicaid.

Offers activities geared to the social, intellectual, cultural, economic, emotional, and physical needs or interests of adults 60 years of age and older. Lunch is available Monday through Friday in the senior centers.

Provides an after school program that offers children a variety of activities such as four square, video games, use of computers, board games, and music, or they may utilize a quieter room to do homework or read. Supervision during programming is provided by adult volunteers.

WIC provides low-income pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children under age 5 who are nutritionally at-risk with nutritious foods, nutrition and health education, breastfeeding promotion and a referral system for health and social services.

Develop case plans for the evaluation, treatment and/or care of individuals who have mental, emotional or social problems and need assistance in arranging services.

Offers social rehabilitation for individuals in a relaxed, enjoyable non-threatening environment. The facility provides recreational activities and equipment for individuals with a history of mental illness.

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide in-home and community support to people with intellectual and developmental differences, including enhanced autism services. The frequency, time, and duration of our support are led by participants and their families as authorized by Supports Coordinators. Services are individualized to one’s preferences and needs.

Offers an all-inclusive licensed 2380 training facility/community based day program for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Transportation to and from the center is offered. Participants are offered exercise, volunteer opportunties, recreational and educational activities. Referrals/intake are made to office in Tamaqua; location of day program is in Hazel Township.

Medical Assistance, also known as Medicaid, pays for health care services for eligible individuals.

Provides free counseling for a variety of First Time Homebuyer Programs.

Provides supported independent living in a shared housing environment. Residents are responsible for caring for their own apartment.

Provides breast health information, education, and access to screenings to underserved African and Caribbean immigrant and refugee women (ACIRW) in the greater Philadelphia area.

Provides support for patients, family, and friends diagnosed with Brain Injuries.

Offers individuals of all ages rewarding opportunities to help in our Senior Community Centers, and to serve as Home-Delivered Meal Drivers, Friendly Visitors, Telephone Reassurance Volunteers, Volunteer Ombudsmen, Foster Grandparents, Prime Time Health Program Leaders and PA Medi counselors.

Provides an array of employment and training services that include resume workshops, free career counseling, job search assistance, interview skills training; skills assessment and job fairs. Many services are available online

Fire department

The Blue Ribbon Task Force works to enhance the military value of Tobyhanna Army Depot and the Pocono Mountains region. Works closely with the local, regional, state and national governments, regional chambers, development authorities, and other interested parties to ensure the long-term viability and sustainability of Tobyhanna Army Depot and economic development throughout the region.

Wound care

Funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Clinic services are confidential and free for males and females of all ages and incomes. Services include: A) Education & Counseling B) Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Testing & Treatment (cervical smear for females, urine test for males) C) Syphilis Testing & Treatment (blood test) D) HIV Antibody Testing (blood test, includes pre- and post-test counseling) E) Diagnosis of other STDs and vaginal infections (including, but not limited to, Genital Warts, Herpes, Trich, Bacterial Vaginosis, and yeasts Infections) F) Partner Notification (at the patients request, a PA Department of Health nurse will confidentially notify any or all of the patients partners in the event of a reportable positive test result) Additional blood tests for Hepatitis C and Herpes treatments for external genital warts are offered through the Family Planning program at special reduced rates.

Assist with toys, books, games, puzzles, baby items such as toys, baby essentials, and occasionally larger Items, a birthday bag program, back to school supplies, Christmas gifts, and guidance to get additional assistance and support.

Matches a person with a disability with an individual or a family to share their lives together. The family assists them in learning skills that will keep the individual happy, safe and healthy. The family support from the agency as well as a tax free stipend. This relationship enriches the lives of both the individual and the family.

Youths work on projects in areas such as animals, engineering, family/consumer, health, agriculture, gardening, sewing, pet care, rocketry, insects, careers, wildlife, raising large animals, cooking, creating Web sites, geographic information systems, babysitting, or social sciences in consultation with their parents and supervising adult volunteers. They also participate in activities and events such as fairs, trips, camping, teen leader trainings, fundraising, achievement programs, and county, regional and state learning opportunities.

Provides assistance to an unpaid caregiver who provides hands-on care for a person 60 years of age and older. The caregiver and care recipient may reside in the same household or in different homes, but the care recipient must reside in Fayette, Greene, or Washington County.
