Plans, coordinates and administers drug and alcohol services for the tri-county community, especially the un-insured or under insured. Centralized intake service conducts an assessment interview to determine the proper treatment protocol for an Individual based on degree and severity of drug and/or alcohol use, as well as his/her medical, social, family, educational and vocational history. All of the Commission's inpatient and outpatient treatment services are provided through contracts with various providers.

Provides recovery support services and resources and opportunities to reduce the impact of addiction and to improve related health issues for the communities of Southeast Pennsylvania (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties). Services include prevention, consultation, education, advocacy, assessment, intervention and treatment services designed to help an individual to stay in recovery.

Provides at-home nursing; physical, occupational, and speech therapies; social services; and home health aides to meet individual needs.

Assists those with intellectual disabilities and their families to address current needs, develop individual support plans and obtaining needed support services.

Provides one-to-one youth mentoring programs in which professionally screened and trained volunteers provide guidance, mentoring, and friendship to children. Programs help children become more confident, make healthy decisions, and achieve their fullest potential in life.

Provides nutrition education, nutritious foods, breastfeeding support and health care referrals for income-eligible pregnant or postpartum individuals, infants, and children up to age five. WIC enables the purchase of specific foods to supplement the dietary needs of participants to ensure good health and development.

Trained professionals provide support, assessment, and referral for the following:

• Aging problems
• Depression
• Domestic violence
• Drug and alcohol problems
• Mental health or mental retardation problems
• Parent/child conflicts
• Sexual assault
• Suicidal thoughts or actions

In addition, callers can receive up-to-date information on agencies and support groups which are designed to meet various needs. Provides in person crisis and mobile crisis services.

Provides library services including computer access, books, DVDs, movies, tutoring, summer reading, language learning software, car repair manuals, and more. Acts as a cooling and warming center during extreme weather events. Call to confirm hours and availability for these services.

Serves children grades 5-12 who have special and alternative education needs that can be better met in an alternative setting. Assigned to bridge educational "gaps" while working toward completion of credits.

Provides an OCD support group that is a self-help discussion group that offers information, support, and encouragement to persons diagnosed with OCD and its spectrum disorders and to their friends and families.

Provides health and human service Information and referral to services, agencies, support groups, and hotlines. CONTACT Altoona helpline volunteers also find solutions for a variety of problems including but not limited to crisis situations, drug and alcohol problems, illness or disability, grief, loneliness, or depression.

Work with businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations to provide potential employees.

Community Food Box Give Away and community meal

Offers a weekly hot meal for anyone in need. Accepts donations.

Acts as cooling/warming center during normal operating hours.

Cancer Program offers cancer patients the latest advances in cancer treatment and a team of cancer experts who are located in the patient's own community. Experts collaborate to create a multi-disciplinary, team-based approach that best meets the needs of each patient.

Solicits surplus food from local industry and effectively distributes these foods through a network of community organizations including food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. Provides SNAP outreach services, facilitating client eligibility screenings, and COMPASS applications.

Assists veterans and their family members with information regarding federal, state, and local benefits. Offers assistance in filing for and accessing the following benefits: compensation for a service-connected disability, pension for veterans unable to work, vocational rehabilitation and counseling, payment for education and job training, home loan guaranty, life insurance, "wheelchair homes," burial benefits, dependency and indemnity compensation, and death pension.

Provides food to residents of Lebanon County whose household income is 150% of the poverty level or less.

Senior center that provides those over 55 years of age with opportunities for socialization, recreation, education, exercise, bus trips and nutrition. Includes a hot noon meal.

Short term transitional housing for homeless families referred by Lehigh County or Northampton County. Case management, life skills classes and children's programs provided to residents.

Provides information about boil water advisories and lists locations of water buffalos for parts of the service area affected.

Offering educational classes to help individuals with financial issues. Offers monthly cancer support group meetings. Offers one on one mentorship to anyone needing help finding a job.

Offers the following services: Daily congregate meal program, meals served at noon; Home delivered meals available for those eligible; Annual nutrition screening and education; Regularly scheduled social, recreational, physical fitness, and educational programming; Online computers are available at all of the activity centers; Transportation is provided by: Rabbittransit Senior Ride Program; Assistance in filling out forms and applications; Tax preparation services are available; and Groups for chorus, bible study, art classes, book club, etc.

Provides socialization, fun activities, educational programs, guest speakers, exercise classes, meals, and volunteer opportunities.
