Mainstay is a mobile program with qualified educators and counselors that provides social work services to school districts and students with specific needs who require additional support to better function within their schools, homes and communities. Mainstay provides individualized academic and therapeutic support services on a mobile basis to school age children,consisting of a phased process of interventions, addressing needs such as truancy, drop out prevention, emotional and behavioral difficulties, placement prevention, transition from placement and parent consultation and support. Services are for high school students and also any adults in the community at large interested in such things as reading help, tutoring or GED instruction.

Consists of services and supports designed to help families with children who have developmental delays. Services may include: information on how children develop skills and abilities; education and support for the parent/caregiver, and specific developmental therapies designed for their child.

Provides a full range of medical equipment and supplies for rent or sale.

Provides short-term career and skills training for adults to obtain certification for employment.

Provides connections permanent housing through a use of time-limited financial assistance and supportive services. Can assist with first month's rent, deposit, short rental subsidy (1-3 months), and medium rental subsidy (3-6 months).

Provides families various needs support of support.

Provides adult education opportunities.

Provides Youth Enrichment Programs through day camps, clubs, STEM and more for children in Clearfield County.

Offering a wedding officiant for marriage.

Provides assessment, job counseling, job search, self-development and training to individuals referred by the Department of Human Services

Offers a variety of adult education opportunities, including basic reading, writing and math skills; High School Equivalency Exam preparation, and English as a Second Language (ESL).

Working Papers: Any student 14-17 years old, prior to high school graduation, must have working papers for employment. Applications are taken at school district administration offices. The student does not have to be present to obtain the papers, parents can fill out the paperwork. To obtain working papers, a copy of the student's birth certificate must be taken to the school administration office. Call local school district for information on location and office hours. Summer Enrichment (Vacation Education): Some schools in the County offer non-credit enrichment courses over the summer break. These courses are designed to broaden the students experiences, keep minds and imaginations active, and offer peer interaction. Subjects that may be offered include: computers, cartooning, music, babysitting, chess, foreign languages, photography, etc. Some schools offer school social worker services.

Provides loan assistive technology devices to people with disabilities.

Provides families in need with weekend food (in the forms of a pack) and education on how to cook low-cost healthy meals, nutrition, food budgeting and shopping strategies. Assure that children return to school well-fed and ready to learn. Provides:

Provides a home away from home for family members of patients who travel a distance to the Sayre campus. Whether you have daily treatments that make it difficult to travel to and from home for or if you have a family member in the hospital for an extended period of time, the House of Hope can provide a much needed place to stay. House of Hope volunteers answer phones and take messages, help with fundraising, minor housekeeping and kitchen duties, greet and register new guests, maintain records, and assist guests as needed. The House is available on a first-come first-serve basis.

Develops personalized budgets and maintains a personal account for each consumer which is used for monthly bills and other financial obligations.

Helps low-income customers better afford their gas bills and maintain their gas service by paying discounted bills or a monthly budgeted amount based on household income. Also, past debt may be forgiven.

Offers furniture and household items at no cost. Accepts donations of iitems that are clean and in good condition. Click here for a list of items that are accepted.

Offers English Vocational Literacy program to equip non-native English speakers with the language skills and knowledge needed for employment.

Provides free transportation for medical appointments to children with sickle cell disease and their parents.

Provides a packed lunch to go for individuals in need.

A support network for birthmothers who have placed a child or are due to deliver and are considering making adoption plans for their child. They may continue in the group as long as necessary.

Assists homeowners through the provision of no-interest rehabilitation loans. Only code items or health and safety hazards will be addressed through the program (no remodeling)

Investigates reports of abuse, neglect, abandonment and financial exploitation.
