The Magisterial District Judge System is a system of minor court judges designed to hear cases involving traffic violations, minor criminal matters, disputes between landlords and tenants, and civil cases such as contract matters or injuries with damages claimed up to $12,000. The system also carries initial jurisdiction over all criminal cases, rendering decisions on the issuance of warrants, and finding sufficient justification to send misdemeanor and felony cases to the Courts of Common Pleas for further action.

Our specializations include the following areas: Introduction to Adult Services, Referrals to experts in areas of financial planning, Assistance with Supplemental Security Income (SSI) applications, Education consultation, Referrals to support groups and on-line resources, Assistance with applications to: Medical Assistance, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and Waiver programs, General coordination of current services received from other providers, and Person-centered planning.

Assists the blind or visually impaired with bill paying, check writing, form completion, grocery shopping and sorting and general household errands.

Provides clients with the skills needed to remain independent in the community. By helping clients improve their ability in areas such as activities of daily living, interpersonal communication skills, computer use, and orientation and mobility.

Provides academic and emotional support to schoolchildren with Autism Spectrum Disorder in their home school districts. Focuses on individual intensive teaching, maintenance/generalization/flexibility, expressive/receptive skill building, natural environment teaching, independent skill building, daily living skill development, play skills training, social emotion skill building, and vocational skill building. Develops and implements individual education plans. Provides transition services for students age 14+ as they approach graduation.

Photography Program

Cancer screening available through, Clinical breast exam, Mammograms, Pelvic Exam and PAP Smear, Educations on breast self-exams, and follow up diagnostic care for breast and cervical abnormal results.

The program includes a broad range of legal, medical, and social intervention on behalf of the older adult. The goal of protective services is to reduce or eliminate the risk of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, and neglect.

Offers faith-based recreation. Provides meal for children followed by group singing, bible lessons, and activity time.

Supplements the residential curbside program by accepting grades of paper not currently collected at curbside including corrugated cardboard, office paper, chipboard and magazines/catalogs as well as hard and soft cover books.

Provides relief to victims of a disaster. Helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Provides English language instruction, academic support and enrichment, literacy instruction, project-based learning, and exposure to arts and culture. Also offers academic support, physical activity, and cross-cultural experiences.

Offers aid to children for their chosen extracurricular activities. Examples include: music and art lessons, horseback riding, football, soccer, swimming, wrestling, basketball, baseball and cheerleading.

Provides funding and administrative oversight for services in our community that support people and their families living with intellectual disabilities.

Offers home modification services for individuals with disabilities to allow them to remain in their own homes. Advocates on behalf of individuals with landlords regarding modifications, and assists with identifying and evaluating contractors and funding sources for modifications.

Volunteer opportunities are available -- volunteers, age 12-17, must be accompanied by a parent. Donations of animal care items and pet food are accepted anytime.

Assists individuals with serious mental illness who are residing in a community setting and are experiencing difficulties maintaining adherence to their medication regiment.

This program provides free groceries and essential food items to eligible individuals and families in need.

Emphasizes growth in all areas of development, including spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive.

Provides a full range of employment services to assist veterans in their search for work. Specially trained veteran employment representatives located in PA CareerLink® offices provide veterans with a full range of employment services, including referral services, job development, referral to training, and referral to government and community veteran service agencies. These representatives help veterans match their job skills to employer job openings and contact employers on behalf of the veteran for consideration in hiring. PA CareerLink® offices comply with the Jobs for Veterans Act by providing priority services to veterans. Local Veterans Employment Representatives and/or Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialists are available at PA CareerLink® offices to assist veterans with job search and other employment needs. Job seekers identified as veterans are matched to job orders, before any other job seeker matches are performed.
