Clients may choose to have their faith/religious beliefs integrated into their treatment.

Crisis Intervention Volunteer Training: Offers training in para-professional counseling skills to help volunteers to support victims/survivors when they are faced with crisis situations.

Provides skilled care and offers 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Offers specialized programs and a range of unique treatments for residents recovering from illnesses, post-accident trauma, chronic disease management, and surgical procedures.

Safe Haven A parent of a new baby under 28 days of age, who feels that they cannot care for the baby, can give the baby to one of the nurses in the Emergency Department and simply leave without giving name or address. If they choose, they may give the nurse a medical history of the baby. The baby receives a check up to be sure it receives medical care for any health problems. Children and Youth Services and one of their employees will come to the Emergency Department and see that the baby is placed in a loving, caring home. Both the parent and baby receive an identification bracelet with a confidential medical record number from the Emergency Department. This allows the parent to contact Children and Youth Services if they want information on the baby after leaving it in the Emergency Department.

Open-ended support group for women with anorexia or bulimia, facilitated by a licensed psychologist.

Provides short-term emergency food (local pantries should be called first), personal care/grooming supplies, and single-use Port Authority bus tickets (for verified job interviews or medical appointments, or occasional other emergency situations). Provides comprehensive psychiatric services that include psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and medication management. Specialty Programs include: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for adults, is a 3 or 5-day program based upon clinical acuity. Partial Hospitalization Program (ALPHA PHP) for children and adolescents, grades K through 12, includes academic instruction and is a year-round program. Psychiatric Rehabilitation is a voluntary, non-clinical program that helps restore community functionality for individuals with mental illness.

Serves as a liason from the District Attorney's Office to the victims of crime, additionally interacting with Adult and Juvenile Probation, Luzerne County Correctional Facility, and police departments throughout Luzerne County. The Victim/Witness Services Unit also works with victims whose Protection From Abuse (PFA) orders have been violated.
