Provides 30-day residential services high in activities that enrich the youths’ social, emotional, and mental well-being. Youth will be closely supervised and mentored by staff members at all times.

Provides intervention in family disputes and crises. Offers services including information and referral, courtesy services for other child welfare agencies, screening, mediation and brief intervention, safety and risk assessment, investigations, parent and life skills training, in-home protective services, case management and collaboration, family service planning, placement services, reunification planning, permanency planning, and adoption.

Investigates reports of neglect and abuse. Services are provided to the children and their families to improve family functioning and to assure children’s safety.

Offers investigations of child abuse, neglect or abandonment; document substantiated cases and works with families who are experiencing a problem with child abuse with the objective of facilitating continued family unification or reunification

Provides individual and group counseling; recreational activities; advocacy services for children living in the Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing; liason service for children needing to enroll in or leave a school for safety purposes; referrals to other agencies and resources are also provided as needed. Provides child care during adult support group meetings, as well as for other activities such as court appearances when scheduled in advance.

Operates 24-hour hotline to accept reports of suspected child abuse and neglect. Forwards information to proper local authorities for investigation. Each report is handled by a trained specialist who will determine the most appropriate course of action.

Our staff work with families directly and also coordinate services with community resources to improve family conditions. In-home Services, Placement Services and Adoption Services are integral to our child protective service function.

Provides protective services to families in need of ongoing social services support and are unable to maintain a minimal level of medical care supervision and /or education for their child. Links families to resources such as housing, mental health,drug and alcohol treatment, parenting education and family counseling.

Provides immediate response to personal crisis related to children where safety is an issue.

Provides emergency intervention 24 hours a day , 7 days a week to ensure immediate safety of children.

Offers a community-based program that helps families that have had children removed from the home achieve safe reunification. Family Reunification aims to help parents identify and remove barriers to reunification and strengthen parenting skills. Service is coordinated with caseworkers and case aides from the Erie County Office of Children and Youth (OCY).

Offers opportunities for college seniors to supplement their education and experience in the field of child welfare through internship positions. Allows the student to gain relevant work experience, enhance their resume, and begin job seeking in the child welfare field.
