Responsible for the state-maintained transportation network in this region. Also works with local governments, elected officials, stakeholders, and the public to keep people and goods moving safely and efficiently in this region.
Exists to serve citizens by educating and addressing municipal questions and needs. This can be done in one of three ways: through their Treasury Office, Call Center or Website. - Treasury Office: Accepts payment of all City of Reading bills and fees except water (RAWA) bills and property taxes. Allows walk-ins and processes payments received by all City of Reading departments. Additionally, Treasury posts payments to applicable accounts, and provides account balances upon request. - Call Center: Manages the city toll-free phone number. Answers citizens questions and responds to citizens request. Log missed trash and recycling occurrences. Accept calls in English and Spanish. The City's Fire and Rescue Department is providing free smoke detectors, complete temporary installations and fire prevention literature to approved applicants. Open door policy allowing citizens to drop into Bethlehem City Hall the second Monday of each month from 9:00am to 11:00am and 1:00pm to 3:00pm to speak with Mayor Robert Donchez. Chats will last 15 minutes. Available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Limited to one visit each month. Located on the 2nd Floor of Building B.

Graffiti Removal
The Bureau of Streets is responsible for the repair of potholes on city streets, construction, maintenance, street sweeping, the removal of dead animals, leaf pick-up, and plowing and removal of snow. This Bureau is also responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Police and Public Works Vehicles.

The Streets Department is responsible for:
  • Plowing and salt spreading during snow/ice events
  • Snow removal from the Central Business District and city parking lots
  • Patching potholes
  • Grading alleys and roadway shoulders
  • Street sweeping
  • Spring pickup
  • Leaf pickup in the fall
  • Catch basin cleaning and rebuilding
  • Cleaning the Central Business District
  • Cleaning 2 recycling areas
  • Clearing debris from 3 runs
  • Repairing sinkholes
  • Removing fallen trees from roadways
  • Assisting with launching and removing the Hiawatha Riverboat from Susquehanna Park
  • Maintaining our department vehicles and Williamsport Police vehicles
  • Assisting with special events throughout the year
Responsible for the maintenance of all state roads spanning 1200 miles within Lancaster County, 760 bridges, and over 50,000 signs. Accepts reports on potholes, road hazards, and other road maintenance problems. Administers the Adopt-a-Highway Program. Groups pledge to maintain a stretch of roadway or highway.
