Municipal/current planning provides a multitude of technical and review services to the 72 municipalities that comprise York County. The technical services cover a wide variety of topics from ordinance development to flood plain identification. The review services cover plan reviews, ordinance amendments, sewage modules and others. The municipal/current planning department has the resources and the expertise to provide planning consultation services to municipalities. Short term services can be provided at no charge, and long term services can be provided on a contractual basis. County/long range planning is primarily responsible for the on-going development and implementation of the York County comprehensive plan. Transportation planning/traffic engineering provides planning and engineering services that are available to all the municipalities within the county. Founded in 1998 to bring people together, to facilitate discussion, to provide information and to enable informed community decision-making on important issues facing Lancaster County. The foundation seeks the input of individuals, organizations and city and county government as it investigates community issues with public feedback, stakeholder interviews, public forums, expert analysis and presentations of investigation findings.

Facilitates and manages sustainable development in Cranberry Township to meets the needs of individual property owners and the Township as a whole within the parameters of the comprehensive plan.

Works with partners in the community, including community members, businesses and organizations, to achieve the goals that will move Schuylkill County forward. Summits are held to address issues in the areas of education, quality of life, economic development, government, infrastructure and leadership.

Promotes local business, supports new and existing businesses, and welcomes new members of the community and tourists passing though. The Chamber is open to the public and can answer questions about the community and provide other services.

The Safe 80 Taskforce is comprised of community and regional planners, developers, businesspersons, state and local police, emergency services personnel, elected state and local officials, representatives from PennDOT and other transportation agencies, the media and concerned citizens. The 80 in Safe 80 refers to Route 80.

Provides planning services to the counties and 62 municipalities in the Lehigh Valley.

Federal program that offers funding opportunities to expand transportation choices and enhance the transportation experience. Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside projects are intended to build pedestrian and bicycle facilities, improve access to public transportation, create safe routes to school, preserve historic transportation structures, provide environmental mitigation, create trails projects that serve a transportation purpose, while promoting safety and mobility.

Principal responsibilities are to work with elected and appointed officials and the general public to create and implement the county's comprehensive plan. LCPC reviews all proposals and amendments related to land use (zoning ordinance, zoning map, subdivisions, land developments, comprehensive plans) as required by the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code and also sewage facilities plans as required by Act 537.
