The Safe 80 Taskforce is comprised of community and regional planners, developers, businesspersons, state and local police, emergency services personnel, elected state and local officials, representatives from PennDOT and other transportation agencies, the media and concerned citizens. Hourglass Foundation - Hourglass Foundation
Founded in 1998 to bring people together, to facilitate discussion, to provide information and to enable informed community decision-making on important issues facing Lancaster County. The foundation seeks the input of individuals, organizations and city and county government as it investigates community issues with public feedback, stakeholder interviews, public forums, expert analysis and presentations of investigation findings.

Municipal/current planning provides a multitude of technical and review services to the 72 municipalities that comprise York County. The technical services cover a wide variety of topics from ordinance development to flood plain identification. The review services cover plan reviews, ordinance amendments, sewage modules and others. The municipal/current planning department has the resources and the expertise to provide planning consultation services to municipalities. Short term services can be provided at no charge, and long term services can be provided on a contractual basis.
County/long range planning is primarily responsible for the on-going development and implementation of the York County comprehensive plan.
Transportation planning/traffic engineering provides planning and engineering services that are available to all the municipalities within the county. The York County planning commission is the designated agency to perform all tasks to meet federal and state transportation planning req

LCPC reviews all proposals and amendments related to land use (zoning ordinance, zoning map, subdivisions, land developments, comprehensive plans) as required by the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code and also sewage facilities plans as required by Act 537.
