Working Papers: Any student 14-17 years old, prior to high school graduation, must have working papers for employment. Applications are taken at school district administration offices. The student does not have to be present to obtain the papers, parents can fill out the paperwork. Summer Enrichment (Vacation Education): Some schools in the County offer non-credit enrichment courses over the summer break. Staff members at each of the locations identify children who are currently enrolled in their programs and are in need of food assistance. Once identified, these children receive a weekly backpack of kid-friendly food to supplement their meals from Friday night until they return to school on Monday morning. Each backpack contains cereal, peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruit, soup, macaroni and cheese, canned one-dish meals, and healthy snacks.
