Any student 14-17 years old , prior to high school graduation, must have working papers for employment. Applications are taken at school district administration offices. The student does not have to be present to obtain the papers, parents can fill out the paperwork. To obtain working papers, a copy of the student's birth certificate must be taken to the school administration office. Call local school district for information on location and office hours.
Summer Enrichment (Vacation Education):
Some schools in the County offer non-credit enrichment courses over the summer break. These courses are designed to broaden the students experiences, keep minds and imaginations active, and offer peer interaction. Subjects that may be offered include: computers, cartooning, music, babysitting, chess, foreign languages, photography, etc.
Some schools offer school social worker services.

The STD Clinic is available on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 12:30pm, and the TB Clinic operates on the 1st Thursday of every month from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Immunizations are free by appointment only on Wednesdays, from 8:30am to 10:45am and 1:30pm to 2:30pm, and are available to individuals with no insurance or underinsurance. Additional services include family and professional education, general health information and referrals, case management and counseling for children with elevated blood lead levels, health promotion and teaching for groups, PKU, perinatal and hepatitis B case management, investigation of communicable diseases, and follow-up for animal bites and rabies.

All grants must be applied to the utility account and reach a zero balance. If amount owed exceeds maximum grant allowed, the applicant is responsible for the balance. Families and individuals are eligible to apply for assistance every two years.
PECO and the Philadelphia Water Department match each dollar provided by grant. This grant, in addition to the matching utility bill credit, and any contribution by the individual, must zero out the utility bill.
