Responsible for registering eligible county residents to vote and for maintaining all voter registration records.

Operates the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center. Establishes an Emergency Operations Center, EOC. Plans for all hazardous disasters. Coordinates and provides the capability to respond to all hazardous materials incidents. Assists all emergency first responders and special teams in conducting essential training.

Communicable disease investigations are carried out by community health nurses on a daily basis throughout the commonwealth. During the course of an investigation, nurses collect information to determine the source of the disease, make contact with those who have been affected either directly or indirectly, and follow up to ensure both treatment of patients and resolution of the root cause of the disease.

Provides outpatient psychotherapy, including marriage counseling, family therapy, diagnostic and therapeutic services for children, adults, and seniors, and psychological testing. Provides outpatient counseling services focused on alleviating symptoms of psychological disorders, behavioral challenges and stress-related issues. Treatment approaches may include: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Talk Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused, Marital Interventions, Attachment and Trauma models, Art Therapy, and Group Processes.

Matches volunteers in one-to-one relationships with adults who are recovering from mental illness. Their friendship provides structured opportunities for socialization which decreases loneliness and increases well being and confidence in the clients. Some opportunities include meeting for coffee, visiting local museums, going out to eat and taking walks together. Other volunteer opportunities include making a 15 minute phone call each week to an individual waiting for one-to-one friend. Program is also available to veterans.

Helps older adults remain safe and independent in their homes and in the community. Provides non-medical and volunteer caregiving services including in-home visits, grocery shopping and errands, transportation and escorting to medical appointments, telephone reassurance, and home safety checks.

Provides public Library services, including books, audio books, music, videos and DVDs as well as access to computer and internet resources. Offers activities for children including reading, singing, games and online activities.

Helps low-income customers to lower electric bills and keep their homes more comfortable in the winter and summer months.

Provides veterans with a full range of employment services, including referral services, job development, referral to training, and referral to government and community veteran service agencies. These representatives help veterans match their job skills to employer job openings and contact employers on behalf of the veteran for consideration in hiring.

Offers gender responsive, trauma-informed, drug and alcohol treatment and support services that address issues like trauma, parenting and childcare, relationships, health, education, employment, and housing. Includes outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization services.

Designed to provide support and services for children and their families who are experiencing ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Behavioral Disorders, Mood Disorders.

Varied levels of care are available for referral. Options include: Short-Term Inpatient Services: care in a licensed inpatient psychiatric unit of a hospital for those unable to manage themselves because of severe mental disability. Long-Term Inpatient Care: Referral to a state hospital with the approval of MH/DS . A plan for discharge back to the community is developed upon admission. Partial Hospitalization: A day treatment (outpatient) service offering a full range of mental health treatment for a minimum of three hours and a maximum of six hours per day for up to five days per week. Outpatient Services: Consist of diagnosis, evaluation and/or treatment of persons with a mental disability not requiring hospitalization. Types of treatment include individual, group, family therapy, or medication when other modalities are insufficient to meet consumer needs.

After School Care for children in grades K-8 Children are provided a snack upon arrival. Staff assists with homework and reading activities. In addition, children have time for physical recreation is the gym.
