This program prepares interested and qualified families to become adoptive parents for children identified by the State-Wide Adoption Network (SWAN) adoption becomes the permanent goal when reunification of the child and the biological family is not possible. As a SWAN affiliate, Friendship House offers all components of the adoptive process including family and child profiles, child-specific recruitment, child preparation and post-adoptive services.

Authorized to collect various delinquent county taxes. May set up payment schedules for persons who, through no fault of their own have been unable to meet their tax burden, and who prove good faith. Coordinates with the court system and law enforcement agencies to seize and sell the real estate, or garnishes the wages of delinquent tax payers. Provides mediation or arbitration for persons who believe they have been unfairly treated.

Offers ten established Community Career and Training site designed to empower the community and connect individuals to workforce and training resources. Sites are located in Wayne County Employment & Training Center and the public libraries in Wayne and Pike Counties.

The adult day care service provides support and peace of mind for regular caregivers so they are better able to take care of life’s daily responsibilities.

Foster parents provide alternative living arrangements when it has been determined tha a child cannot remain in the home of his/her biological parents. Children are matched with families who are able to best meet their needs.
