Provides energy saving improvements to qualifying households to help reduce their utility bills and/or usage. It allows residents a safer living environment with a warmer home during the heating season and a cooler home during the summer. After the home energy evaluation, the following conservation services and/or equipment may include insulation, air sealing, heating system repairs, furnace clean, tune, and safety inspection, door and window caulking and weather stripping, or carbon monoxide and smoke alarms.

Pennsylvania Department of Human Services - Northwestern County Assistance Office - LIHEAP - LIHEAP - 2025-2026 Season

Provides grants to families living on low incomes to pay their heating bills. The grant is a one-time payment sent directly to the utility company/fuel provider. These grants range from $200 to $1,000 based on household size, income, and fuel type. Households without heat or in immediate danger of being without heat may also qualify for crisis grants in addition to the LIHEAP Cash Grants.

Property and Taxes Office, York County Government - Home Weatherization, Planning Commission

This a program to help people who have a limited income lower their fuel bills, save energy and have more comfortable homes in the process. The work is done for those eligible free of charge. Specially trained workers make specified repairs to your home so that it becomes more snug, secure and cheaper to heat and cool. Services include attic and basement insulation, hot water heater and pipe insulation, window and door weatherstripping, caulking, broken glass replacement and glazing. Also as part of the Weatherization Program your furnace and water heater will be tested for its efficiency and safety. Inefficient or unsafe furnaces will be repaired or replaced. All work is done on an as needed basis. In addition, we provide education on ways you can use and save energy wisely.
