Provides utility assistance, information and referral services

Offers financial assistance when a security deposit is required for establishing utility service. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and may be sought only once during a 12 month program year.

Helps individuals and families with one-time needs and tangible assistance. Assistance may include help with rent, utilities, prescriptions, and other needs. Help and amounts vary by conference. Also provides vouchers for clothing, household items, and furniture for use at Saint Vincent de Paul thrift stores. Sponsors a food pantry in Butler that serves over 500 families every month. Food bank members can expect to receive vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy products, and non-perishable items. In addition, more than 20 Society Conferences host food pantries and many others provide some form of food assistance.

Helps residential customers maintain electric service and eliminate their past-due balance. PCAP offers a reduced bill that is based on a percentage of income and debt forgiveness. Debt forgiveness credits are applied directly to participants' electric service accounts in recognition of payments that are made on time and paid in-full.

Provides direct assistance with utility bills for individuals and families. Also acts as a screening agency and offers assistance with the applications for Dollar Energy Fund, Peoples Gas CAP Program, and LIHEAP. Also offers modest grants to assist with rent, security deposits, and mortgages.

Seeks to assist veterans and their families before they lose their housing. Soldier On provides in-home case management, referral services, and temporary financial assistance for housing to veterans facing homelessness.

The Sewer Hook-Up Assistance Program is available to help homeowners pay for the cost of their sewer hookup and related installation fees. Income requirements are the same for the Sewer Hookup Assistance Program as the Home Improvement Program. The amount to be paid will be based on the total of Your plumber's final bill. This program does not cover The tap-in fee/connection fee.

Proof of income required. Must be a PPL customer, and must not exceed 150% of the poverty guidelines. Operation Help: One time grant for individuals with special hardships in paying their electric bills. Funds are provided by PPL which requires the family be a PPL customer and have an income under the 200% of the poverty guideline. Electric deposit waiver program: For those under 200% of the poverty guidelines. UGI CAP and Operation Share: Help with past due gas utility bills. CAP offers a lower bill based on income and usage for households at or below 150% of federal poverty guidelines. Operation Share is a grant for those at or below 200% federal poverty guidelines who are having difficulty paying their gas bill.
