Orientation and Mobility instruction teaches individuals to travel independently around their homes, workplaces, and in their communities. After an evaluation of need is completed, a training plan is developed to meet the customer's specific needs.

Assists Pennsylvanians who are blind or visually impaired gain the skills necessary to live and work independently in their communities. Services include vocational rehabilitation, orientation and mobility instruction, and independent living skills instruction. The Randolph-Sheppard Business Enterprise Program (BEP) assists persons operate food service businesses in commercial, industrial or governmental locations.

Provides referrals for Orientation and Mobility Training. The individual's plan may include: sensory awareness, spatial concepts, searching skills, sighted guide, independent movement, cane skills, and protective techniques.

Supports and promotes the interests of those who are low vision or blind and the prevention of blindness through a wide range of services, including:

• Rehabilitation Services to teach vision impaired persons and their family's techniques and use of adaptive equipment to promote independence
• Kid Sight screenings
• Vision Voucher Program
• Sight Loss Support Groups

Assists PA residents who are blind or visually impaired to secure and maintain employment and independence. Provides training and adaptive devices to assist with adjustment to vision loss.

• Independent Living Services
• Specialized Services
• Vocational rehabilitation including counseling, guidance, pre-vocational training, job placement, and specialized blindness skills training
• Orientation and mobility instruction (white cane usage)
• Rehabilitation Teaching
• Business Enterprise program that trains persons who are blind to work in food service
• Transportation can be purchased by the agency for consumers when needed in conjunction with another service
