Teaches individuals who are blind, vision-impaired, or deaf-blind how to use their other senses, special equipment, and new techniques to live independently. General curricula have been established, but each individual benefits from an individualized program.

Provides services free of charge to residents in Lebanon County who are blind or vision impaired. Provides individuals with the skills needed to remain independent in the community. This training focuses on activities of daily living (cooking, cleaning, managing your clothing, etc.), personal and interpersonal communication skills (money management, writing, maintaining your bills, etc.) along with orientation and mobility training.

Orientation and Mobility instruction teaches individuals to travel independently around their homes, workplaces, and in their communities. After an evaluation of need is completed, a training plan is developed to meet the customer's specific needs.

Provides assistance to individuals who are blind and visually-impaired. Services include help with household chores and personal care, transportation and companion/escort for appointments, shopping/errand running, assistance with filling out forms and reading mail,

Services include: - Independent Living Services - Specialized Services - Vocational rehabilitation including counseling, guidance, pre-vocational training, job placement, and specialized blindness skills training - Orientation and mobility instruction (white cane usage) - Rehabilitation Teaching - Business Enterprise program that trains persons who are blind to work in food service - Transportation can be purchased by the agency for consumers when needed in conjunction with another service - Public education programs

Services offered: - Comprehensive examination by an ophthalmologist or optometrist. Discusses what low vision aids are available. - Occupational Therapy services - Orientation and Mobility training - Demonstration, evaluation and sale of Closed Circuit Television Systems, also known as CCTVs. Access Technology services/training is available. - Provides comprehensive client support services: Access Technology, Talking Book Program, Public Education, Low Vision Rehabilitation, Low Vision Services, Preschool Screening and Remedial Eye Care. - Provides Social Services, including transportation to medical appointments and essential community errands; and in-home support services.

Assists PA residents who are blind or visually impaired to secure and maintain employment and independence. Provides training and adaptive devices to assist with adjustment to vision loss.

Provides referrals for Orientation and Mobility Training. The individual's plan may include: sensory awareness, spatial concepts, searching skills, sighted guide, independent movement, cane skills, and protective techniques.

Supports and promotes the interests of the blind and the prevention of blindness through a wide range of services, including: - Vocational Services - Rehabilitation and Social Services teach vision impaired persons and their family's techniques and use of adaptive equipment to promote independence - Glaucoma screenings, Kid Sight screenings - Vision Voucher Program - Referrals to local ophthalmologists for diagnosis and treatment, eye examinations and refractions for low income individuals without medical insurance - Assistance for the purchase of single lens eyeglasses for low-income individuals - Braille Transcription - Sight Loss Support Groups
