We also welcome allies and members of the LGBTQ+ community.. PFLAG does not work directly with youth but aims to improve their lives by supporting families and educating communities. La Casa Dominicana de Hazleton - Hispanic Community Outreach

Reaches out to all members of the Hispanic community and promotes Hispanic culture in the Greater Hazleton area and beyond. Services to help guide people through the citizenship and immigration process. Offers a course that prepare person to take the U.S. citizenship test and ESL courses. Shares Hispanic culture with the community, cultural events. Also gives music class for kids, free basic computer courses and various cultural and folkloric workshops for kids and adults.

Centro Hispano Daniel Torres - Information & Referral Program

Bilingual bicultural staff assists and connects consumers with programs, benefits, and services that they may be eligible for such as state benefits through the PA Compass System, welfare benefits, public health insurance, etc. Due to their extensive network with local providers they are able to refer clients to where their clients are able to have their needs met. Provides referrals to social service agencies, advocacy, notary services, etc. including referrals to Safe Berks if client fears for her/his life. Dedicated Personnel trained on domestic violence service support through Safe Berks.

Latino Community Center - SOY (Supporting Our Youth)

Assists improvement of academic outcomes for Latino youth, while simultaneously building students’ pride in their native language and heritage. Program goals include academic advancement, cultural empowerment, social-emotional development, and family engagement. Students who participate in SOY Pgh also receive a snack and dinner daily.
