Offers the following customer assistance programs to those in need: 1) Pennsylvania Customer Assistance Program (PCAP:) Helps residential customers maintain electric service and eliminate their past-due balance. PCAP offers a reduced bill that is based on a percentage of income and debt forgiveness. Debt forgiveness credits are applied directly to participants' electric service accounts in recognition of payments that are made on time and paid in-full. The goals of PCAP are to: * Improve ability to make a payment * Reduce consumption of electricity (eligible PCAP customers must participate in WARM) * Reduce electric account debt 2) Customer Assistance & Referral Evaluation Services Program (CARES): Provides assistance on a short-term basis to payment-troubled residential customers. Based upon the circumstances, company CARES representatives make referrals to social agencies and provide information on appropriate company and/or external programs. Specialized Customer Outreach Program services include: - Customer Assistance and Referral Evaluation Service (CARES) Program: Assists UGI customers who are having difficulty paying their bills. Customer representatives meet and discuss LIHEAP, budget counseling, weatherization services and community resources. - Operation SHARE: A one-time financial assistance payment of the client's active gas account providing the customer has demonstrated a history of regular payments and meets eligibility criteria. - CAP (Customer Assistance Program): Personalized monthly billing program that helps low income, payment troubled customers better afford their UGI bills. CAP Program arranges a reduced payment plan for UGI-Penn Natural Gas customers who are eligible and have an active UGI-PNG account. Customers must have a verifiable source of income on which the CAP payment is based. Part of the customer agreement with UGI-PNG is that the customer apply for LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program). SLHDA, Inc. is able to assist UGI-PNG customers with the completion of their LIHEAP application and forward the application to the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare for processing.

Provides assistance to households that need help paying a utility bill or are in need of fuel assistance in an emergency situation in order to prevent utility shut off. In addition, coordinates PPL's and UGI Penn Natural Gas Customer Assistance Programs. PPL Programs include: OnTrack Payment Program, Operation Help (OpHelp), and Security Deposit Waiver Program. UGI programs include: Customer Assistance Program (CAP), and Operation Share (OpShare).

Provides one-time limited financial help with late rent, utilities, emergency shelter in hotel/motel, prescription medicine, clothing required for work, and other services that provide a helping hand to allow people to get on firmer footing.
