Offers a six-month workforce development program that focuses on neighborhood beautification work. Operates on a full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week) with one day per week of classroom training in soft skills training and the remaining four days assisting with neighborhood beautification tasks throughout the city. Participants will have the opportunity to be hired in a full time civil service capacity at the completion of the workforce development program. Rate of pay $17 per hour.
Certified Nurse Assistant Program-Inquire about our 10-week course that teaches medical terminology, math, classroom and skills training as well as clinical experience. Class is available only in West Chester. County OIC is a Certiport authorized testing center for Microsoft Office 2003 Specialist Certification exams. Certification is available in Word, OutlookR, Excel, and PowerPointR. Expert level certifications are offered for Word and Excel. Exams are available for Microsoft Office XP and Office 2003. Programs that identify public or private sector employers that are willing to take on trainees who learn to perform the tasks that are associated with their position at the work site using the actual tools, equipment, documents and materials that they will use when fully trained. OJT trainees work under the supervision of skilled employees who serve as instructors following a training plan established by the employee, the employer and an external agency, if matching wages are being paid by that agency; and are engaged in productive work and earn a wage as they are trained. Employers may be offered cash training reimbursements (subsidized wages) or other incentives to hire difficult-to-employ individuals and are generally expected to hire the trainees upon successful completion of the training.

Offers an electrician training program in three, hybrid (Zoom and in-person), 10-week courses. Courses take place one night per week and addresses electrical safety, theory, tools, circuits, equipment, materials/wiring, and calculations. Six weeks per course offer optional in-person, hands-on performance tasks at real time service calls where students apply learning and do the work. Training is appropriate for beginning careers in residential, commercial, industrial, and lineman jobs.

Provides training and instruction required to obtain the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification and for a career in emergency medical services. Includes lab work, crisis communication training, mental health first aid training, professional development workshops, study sessions, and career exposure. Holds classes 3 days per week at All-State Career School and 2 days a week at Congreso's Education & Training Center. Program is full-time and runs 12 weeks.
Offers a 14-week pre-apprenticeship program. Includes courses in work safety, electric and gas basics, technical maintenance, and other skills. Provides mentorship and opportunities to shadow and assist PECO employees on the job. Prepares participants for the construction and skilled trades exam and CDL certification. Prepares graduates for a range of careers such as aerial line mechanic, underground mechanic, distribution gas mechanic, transmission and substations testing mechanic, and others. Pre-apprentice Helpers are paid approximately $21 per hour.
Prepares participants for entry-level employment in manufacturing careers, seamless entry into the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Registered Apprenticeship Program, or continued education. Covers hydraulics, industrial electricity, mechanical components, and programmable logic controls. Offers career counseling, resume development, interview preparation, and job finding help. Readies graduates for PMMI Mechatronics Level 1 and ACT National Career Readiness certification exams.

WOAR offers internships to graduate students in Psychology or Social Work programs. A graduate intern will receive extensive training on sexual assault, treatment issues, working with children, working with adults, and responding to crisis situations. This training occurs in September and is required. The responsibilities of an intern are to: -Provide individual counseling to adults and children who have been sexually assaulted -Co-facilitate support groups -Answer the hotline and provide medical accompaniment -Complete all necessary paperwork All interns are given individual weekly supervision by the Director of Counseling Services.

Offers eight-week pre-apprenticeship program designed to help individuals build the skill necessary to obtain good-paying careers in the building and construction trades, manufacturing, and energy sectors. Students receive six industry-recognized certifications and life skills training.
Offers earn-while-you-learn Apprentice Training for the Electrical Industry (ATEI), that combines on-the-job training (OTJ) and classroom training. Assigns new apprentices to a signatory employer and earn a paycheck while attending weekly related instruction and learning on-the job.
Provides career identification, real and virtual job shadowing, and work experiences for youth, ages 18-24. Youth are matched with a mentor for job shadowing and work experiences. These positions may be a paid or unpaid experience. Designed to help out of school youth acquire the personal attributes, knowledge, and skills needed to obtain a job and advance into the work-force.
